Chôm Chôm Bar and Kitchen

Oinks:

When in Hongkong, you don't need time to tell you when to eat. You eat whenever you see food. You try to cram everything in because you have little precious time. Good thing this piggy has one big tummy.

On our second night, Angel brought us to Chôm Chôm. When she asked us if we eat Vietnamese food, I had no idea she would be taking us to Hongkong's best and hippest Vietnamese restaurant. :)

After passing by several restaurants and bars, we came to a stop in front of this non descriptive place with a bevy of people having drinks outside. Initially thought we couldn't get in but luckily the crowd was just there drinking. Being in Soho, makes me forget I was in Hongkong. Really.

Chôm Chôm first started as a small private kitchen in Wellington that serves limited pho. Chef Peter Franklin is a friend of my friend, Lei who is Angel's sister. :)

Because we've been eating ALL day, we only ordered small bites and rolls.

Crispy Salt and Pepper Squid with Sriracha Mayo (HK4 98.00)
Perfect bar chow. Although I was drinking water, I kept popping this wonderful, crispy calamari left and right. It was so addicting.

VFC or Vietnamese Fried Chicken. (HK$ 98.00)
The skin was perfectly crisp while the meat was tender, garlicky and tangy. It was too good for me not to pick it up with my fingers and lick off the bones.

Crispy Spring Roll (HK$ 88.00)
Pork, mushroom, vegetables and coriander. As much as I liked the rolls, the real star of this dish, for me, was the dipping sauce. It was so good - perfect blend of sweet and sour - I wanted  to drink it!

Tofu Rice Paper Roll (HK$ 88.00)
Very, very light and fresh. It was so light, we had two!

Wasn't able to try their phô and bahn mi but definitely, next time. When this little piggy is less bloated from the double dinner she had... SHHHHHH!!! :P
